Board Approves Schedule for Harlandale ISD Projects

On Tuesday, December 3, the Harlandale ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved a timetable for four projects the District has been eyeing. The Board approved a 16-month timeframe, once a contract with the Design / Build contractor has been signed.

The four projects, include an Early College High School, Health Science and Technology buildings at Harlandale High School and McCollum High School and Auto Technology renovation and expansion at McCollum High School. Details for each project can be found below:

Early College High School:

  • New 2-story building
  • 48,899 square feet
  • Located on Harlandale Memorial Stadium property
  • Will serve up to 400 students
  • Anticipated cost: $11,739,330

Health Science Technology – Harlandale HS:

  • New 2-story building
  • 13,200 square feet
  • Located on Harlandale HS property
  • Will house JROTC and Health and Science Technology classrooms
  • Includes addition of parking lot over current JROTC property
  • Anticipated cost: $3,265,658

Health Science Technology – McCollum HS:

  • New 1-story building
  • 4,500 square feet
  • Located on Terrell Wells parking lot, adjacent to McCollum HS
  • Anticipated cost: $1,240,602

Auto Technology – McCollum HS:

  • Renovation and expansion to existing automotive shop
  • 4,000 square feet
  • Anticipated cost: $813,220

Jasmine Engineering, the District’s Project Manager for the four projects, has provided Programming services to get the projects rolling forward, as directed by District staff. Additionally, the firm will provide Project Management, Construction Management and Building Commissioning services. Jasmine Engineering Founder and Principal-in-Charge, Jasmine Azima, said all four projects should be completed within the 16-month timeframe.
