Deputy San Antonio City Manager Erik Walsh has been selected unanimously by the San Antonio City Council to replace Sheryl Sculley as San Antonio’s next city manager.
Walsh was selected as the top candidate from an original field of over 30 applicants on January 16th.
San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg stated that after the interview process was completed, it was clear that Walsh was best prepared to address the issues and circumstances facing San Antonio.
Walsh has served the City of San Antonio for over 24 years.
The last time the City of San Antonio selected a new City Manager, over 12 years ago, no internal candidates emerged. This time, 6 of the 8 finalists were internal City of San Antonio candidates.
San Antonio has a lot to be proud of. Jasmine Engineering congratulates Mr. Walsh on his selection, and we look forward to working with him and the City in the years ahead.
